Unaka was unable to keep pace on Friday night.
The Rangers dropped a 61-12 decision to Twin Spring (Va.) in Nickelsville, Va.
After the Titans opened the scoring, Unaka answered as Ashton Fuller took the ensuing kick 85 yards for a touchdown. That pulled UHS within 7-6.
The Rangers struck again as Fuller caught an 81-yard pass from Brayden Otey as UHS trimmed the TS lead to 28-12. Unaka, however, was unable to match Twin Springs’ offensive attack.
The Rangers are set to open Region 1-A play next Friday with a trip to Cosby.
