Rangers Jump Out Early To Take Region 1-A Win Over Hancock

Unaka used a quick start to jump into the win column.

The Rangers jumped out early and never looked back to take a 36-18 win over Hancock County in Region 1-A play on the road Friday night. It was the first win of the season for the Rangers.

Unaka took an early 8-0 lead when Connor McKinney found Brynin Repass for a touchdown pass three minutes into the game. The Rangers pushed the advantage to 16-0 with a two-yard Repass touchdown with 4:44 left in the quarter.

Connor McKinney scored on a short touchdown run to send UHS into the second quarter with a 22-0 lead.

Unaka continued to hold the momentum in the second quarter as Repass hit McKinney for a 29-yard touchdown as the Rangers took a 28-0 lead two minutes into the quarter.

The Rangers held a 28-0 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, Repass caught a pass from McKinney and took it 28 yards for the touchdown midway through the third quarter.

Hancock County scored two late touchdowns, but Unaka’s lead was never threatened.
