Saturday Baseball Round-up: Elizabethton, Unaka pickup wins

The Cyclones were unable to rally from an early deficit in Saturday’s action at Sevier County.

Elizabethton fell behind 5-0 after one half inning of play, but slowly chipped away at the lead. EHS trimmed the advantage to 6-5 at the end of the third inning, and the teams swapped two run sides to account for the final score.

Lawson Wagner, Matthew Dailey, Bryson Rollins and Karson Dillard each recored two hits a piece for the Cyclones, while Dailey had two RBI.

In just over three innings of work, Nico Ashley allowed just four hits in a no-decision effort on the mound.

The Rangers left no doubt in the closing innings to take the win.

Unaka scored six combined runs in their final two innings to secure the win. Bryson Street had three RBI, while Daniel Ensor and Nick Nunley each recorded two RBI.

John Ramsey picked up the win on the mound as he pitched a no-hitter in just under four innings of work. Ramsey struck out eight batters in the win.
