Saturday Round-up: Lady Bulldogs, Bulldogs Win Thrillers; Lady Cyclones Come Up Short

The Lady Bulldogs outlasted Daniel Boone in a trailblazer.

After DB held a 16-15 lead after a quarter of play, seven Lady Bulldogs scored in the second quarter as Hampton took a slim 36-34 lead into the half.

The second half continued to be back-and-forth, and Hampton hit key free throws in the closing seconds to secure the win.

Hannah Smith scored 19 points to lead the way for the Lady Bulldogs.

Ella Estep had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Piper Helle scored nine points, while Faye Carrico added eight points.

Knox Webb 66, Elizabethton 41
The Lady Cyclones were unable to keep pace in the second half against a state runner-up from last season.

The first quarter saw the teams go back-and-forth as Webb held a slim 16-12 lead. It was much the same in the second quarter as the Lady Cyclones stayed within striking distance with a 29-25 deficit at the break.

Elizabethton continued to battle in the second half but was unable to keep pace with Webb.

Jasy Shell had nine points. Adrian Heading scored seven points. Peyton McGee added six points.

Boys
Hampton 68, Daniel Boone 62
The Bulldogs won a back-and-forth battle.

Daniel Boone held a 15-12 lead after a quarter of play and maintained a 27-23 advantage. Hampton used a late run in the third quarter to tie things up at 49-49 after the third.

In the final quarter, the Bulldogs answered an early Trailblazer run with a run of their own to pull ahead and take the win.

Chase Davenport led the way with 25 points for Hampton, while Jayden Nave and Tuff Robinson had 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Bryce Fagan scored 12 points for the Bulldogs.
