Cloudland 70, Hampton 39 (girls)
The Lady ‘Landers used a quick start for a Saturday win in District 1-A play.
Clouland jumped out to a 15-5 lead in the first quarter and pushed the lead to 34-14 at the half. Hampton kept battling, but Cloudland was able to roll to the win.
Makinna Shell paced Cloudland with 20 points, while Jayla Harper and Abriella Jones finished with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Hannah Smith led Hampton with 19 points. Hannah Baird scored six points, while Baileigh Matthews and Lexi Potter had four points apiece.
Dobyns-Bennett 74, Elizabethton 54 (girls)
The Lady Cyclones were unable to rally late against DB on Saturday night.
It was a back-and-forth battle early as EHS held a 14-13 lead after a quarter of play before the Lady Indians took a 27-256 lead into the half.
After DB used a run to take a 46-39 lead into the final quarter, Elizabethton was unable to cut into the lead in the final eight minutes.
Rylee May had 23 points to lead EHS, while Reagan May had 15 points. Jamira Smalls scored seven points.
Hampton 96, Cloudland 48 (boys)
The Bulldogs rolled to a District 1-A win over a county foe on Saturday night.
Hampton jumped out to a 30-8 lead after a quarter of play and pushed the lead to 60-21 by the half.
Colby Clark and Chase Davenport had 16 points apiece, while Austen Campbell finished with 13 points. Cameron Nave and Talon Creed scored eight points apiece. Gabe Vines and Logan Lunceford scored seven points each.
Cloudland saw Conner Carpenter score 15 points to lead the way, while John Wilson added 12 points. Gavyn Shell had six points. Bo Wilson rounded out the scoring late for Cloudland with three points.
Elizabethton 62, Happy Valley 21 (boys)
The Cyclones picked up a county win on Saturday afternoon.
Nathan Bailey led EHS with 23 points, while Justin Whitehead had 10 points. Evan Chambers and Jackson Buckles had seven points apiece.
Zack Rose led HV with eight points, while Grady Goulds added seven points.
