Another round of snow forced another round of schedule changes for the Region 1-AA and Region 1-A tournaments.
The Region 1-AA tournament pushed back Thursday’s slate of games until Friday at Sullivan East. The Cyclones will open the day at 4 p.m., with the semifinal against Grainger. A win would move Elizabethton into the semifinals and sectional round. After the other boys’ semifinals at 5:30 p.m., the Lady Cyclones will look to claim the Region 1-AA title against Grainger in the championship game at 7 p.m.
In Region 1-A, the girls’ semifinals at Chuckey-Doak High School have been postponed. Cloudland will now take on South Greene at 5 p.m., with Hampton taking on North Greene at 6:30 p.m. The championship game is set for Saturday at 8 p.m.
The Region 1-A Quarterfinal between Hampton and Northview has been postponed until Friday at 6 p.m. The boys’ semifinals have been moved to Saturday at 5 p.m., and 6:30 p.m., at Chuckey-Doak. The winner of the Hampton-Northview game will face North Greene at 5 p.m.
Winter weather has been an issue during the district and region tournaments. The TSSAA altered the sectional schedule with the girls now playing on Monday and boys playing on Tuesday.
