Suspended Hampton Elementary Teacher and Girl’s Basketball Head Coach Leon Tolley has been indicted with two counts of theft under $500. The charges come after another grand jury had found that there was not enough evidence to convict Tolley of the charges.
According to the Johnson City Press, Tolley is charged with taking narcotic painkillers, Lortabs, out of another teacher’s medicine bottle in her classroom. Video surveillance captured Tolley twice, but the Hampton teacher had said he replaced the pills in the bottle the first time.
Tolley was suspended in December after the investigation was started, and will answer charges in the next session of Criminal Court.
