When it came down to it, the choice was clear for the Week 9 Applebee’s Player of the Week.
Elizabethton’s Ethan Thomas carried the Cyclones to a victory over Unicoi County on Friday night to earn his third selection as the Applebee’s of Elizabethton Player of the Week.
Thomas had six touchdowns on the night as he ran for 211 yards on 19 carries. The senior enters Week 10 with 33 touchdowns and surpassed the 6,000-yard total for his career on Friday night.
Thomas and the Cyclones are ranked 10th in Class 4A in the AP poll. Elizabethton is set to host Sullivan South on Thursday night with the winner taking the Three Rivers Conference crown.
Other honoree’s as Applebee’s of Elizabethton Players of the Week are Phillip Garland (Happy Valley), Coby Jones (Hampton), Zack Guinn (Hampton), Jerry Lunsford (Hampton), Micah Hunt (Unaka), Colby Birchfield (Cloudland), and Zac Benfield (Cloudland).
