Three Carter County Teams Ranked in Week Three AP Poll

Three Carter County squads remained ranked in the Tennessee AP Prep Football Poll heading into Week 3.

In Class 4A, the Cyclones held down the top spot setting the stage for a No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown Friday night.

EHS tallied 156 points – including 14-of-16 first-place votes – to pace 12 points ahead of No. 2 Greeneville. Tullahoma, Pearl Cohn, and South Doyle rounded out the top five.

In Class 2A, the Bulldogs jumped one spot to No. 3. Hampton tallied 106 points with one first-place vote to come in seven points behind No. 2 Trousdale.

Meigs County was ranked No. 1 in the poll with 14-of-16 first-place votes.

In Class A, Cloudland held steady at No. 7 after dispatching Unaka Friday night. The ‘Landers also received a first-place vote to tally 63 points in the poll – just 23 points behind No. 6 Coalfield.

Peabody, Fayetteville, and South Pittsburg held down the top three spots.
