Thursday Round-up: Bulldogs Take Walk-off Over Johnson Co.; Lady Cyclones, Lady Warriors Fall



Hampton 7, Johnson County 6
The Bulldogs plated four runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extras, and then took the victory as Caleb Royston hit a line drive to plate Chance Point for the win.

It was Hampton’s 18th win of the season.

Point went 3-for-5 at the plate, while Morgan Lyons and Brody Hicks each tallied two hits.

Collin Morgan and Royston had a hit apiece.

Josh Whitson picked up the win as he struck out seven Longhorn batters and allowed just four earned runs on six hits.

Happy Valley 4, West Greene 3
Happy Valley 9, West Greene 4
The Warriors picked up a sweep on Thursday afternoon.

In the first game, Andrew Little went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the way. Drew Blevins picked up the win on the mound as he struck out 11 batters and allowed just one earned run on seven hits.

In the second game, Reagan Ensor tallied two hits, while Pedro Colunga allowed just one earned run on five hits to pick up the win on the mound.

Unicoi County 10, Elizabethton 6
The Lady Cyclones were unable to answer a seven-run first-inning by the Lady Blue Devils.

EHS jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, but Unicoi plated seven runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead.

Elizabethton continued to battle, but was unable to rally back.

Kenidy Harris was 2-for-3 including a three-run homerun, while, seven Lady Cyclones recorded a hit.

Johnson County 15, Happy Valley 4
Laura Rice went 3-for-3, but the Lady Warriors were unable to keep pace with the Lady Longhorns in the first game of a doubleheader.

Madison Lingerfelt added two hits for Happy Valley.

HV lost the second game 11-1.
