Thursday Round-up: Lady Cyclones Move Past DB; Unaka Falls To South Greene

The Lady Cyclones hit the gas early and never looked back.

Renna Lane scored nine points in the first quarter and Lina Lyon added a pair of 3-pointers as Elizabethton rolled to a 21-7 lead after eight minutes of play.

DB trimmed the lead by outscoring EHS 15-8 in the second, but the Orange and Black held a 29-22 advantage.

A back-and-forth third quarter saw the Lady Indians trim two points off the EHS lead, but the Lady Cyclones took care of business at the free throw line in the fourth to secure the win.

Lyon had 19 points, while Lane finished with 18 points. Olivia Holly had nine points.

South Greene 79, Unaka 53
The Lady Rangers were unable to answer a strong third quarter by the Lady Rebels.

Unaka held a 12-10 lead after a quarter of play, and the game was tied at 29-29 at the half.

South Greene started the second half hot as they outscored UHS 33-14 in the third quarter. Unaka kept battling but was unable to answer the run.

Lyndie Ramsey had 35 points to lead Unaka. Emma Taylor added six points.

South Greene 57, Unaka 64
The Rangers battled but were unable to overcome a first-half deficit.

South Greene jumped out to a 16-4 lead after the first quarter, but the Rangers cut into the lead by outscoring SG 13-9 in the second.

South Greene, however, used a third-quarter run to pull away to take the win.

Joe-Z Blamo had 13 points to lead Unaka, while Marcus Shomaker had 12 points.
