The ‘Landers broke up a 4-4 game with six runs in the fifth inning and rolled to a win on Thursday evening.
On the mound, Cam Peppers set the tone as he struck out 16 batters in six innings of work and allowed just one earned run on one hit.
Colin Davis went 3-for-5 with two RBI. Brayden Whitaker added two RBI and a hit. Thomas Job and Walker Gouge had two hits and an RBI apiece.
Jonah Tomberlin and Bryson Peppers each had a hit.
Elizabethton 15, Waucanda (IL) 3
The Cyclones made it eight wins in a row on Thursday with a convincing win in Murfreesboro over an out-of-state foe.
EHS opened the game with a run in the top of the first and added another in the top of the third before adding six more in the fourth to take an 8-0 lead. From there, it was all Elizabethton.
JD Hooks went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Steven Meadows tallied three RBI. Justin Whitehead, Logan Campbell, and Bryson Rowland had two RBI and a hit.
Rhett Slagle was 2-for-2 with an RBI.
On the mound, Brayden Buckles allowed just one earned run on three hits in four innings of work.
