The Lady ‘Landers were unable to answer a late Cosby run.
Cloudland jumped out to an early double-digit lead in the opening minutes before Cosby used a late run to trim the lead to 18-13 after a quarter of play.
The teams traded shots in the second quarter as CHS held a slim 30-27 advantage.
After the Lady Eagles held a slim 45-40 lead after three complete, the teams continued to battle before Cosby ended the game on a 16-4 run.
Makenzie Street had 19 points to lead Cloudland. Makinna Shell added 16 points.
Abby Clawson had seven points.
North Greene 62, Elizabethton 56
The Lady Cyclones came up short in a back-and-forth battle in Greene County on Thursday night.
EHS held a 12-9 lead after a quarter of play, but the Lady Huskies used a 20-5 run in the second quarter to take a 29-17 at the half.
Elizabethton continued to battle but was unable to retake the lead in the closing moments.
Peyton McGee and Rylee May finished with 12 points apiece for Elizabethton. Adrian Heading added 10 points.
Reagan Maye and Kayelyn Nave scored nine points each.
Hampton 62, Sullivan East 53
The Lady Bulldogs overcame an early 21-10 deficit to storm back and pick up the road win.
After trailing 21-10 after the first quarter, Hampton outscored the Lady Patriots 21-4 in the second quarter to take a 31-25 lead into the half.
From there, the Lady Bulldogs were able to outlast East for the win.
Piper Helle had 21 points to lead Hampton, while Hannah Smith had 18 points. Brea Hicks scored eight points.
Unaka 63, Cedar View Christian 25
The Lady Rangers set the tone early.
Unaka jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the first quarter and quickly pushed the advantage to 27-12 at the half. From there, it was all UHS.
Michelle Shields had 33 points to lead Unaka, while Keyona Hague and Lauren Lund had seven points apiece. Kallie Shepard and Ari Sutherland had six points each.
Boys
Cosby 79, Cloudland 40
Cloudland was unable to overcome a quick Cosby start on Thursday night.
The Eagles jumped out to a 17-5 lead after a quarter of play and pushed the advantage to 39-18 at the half.
Cloudland continued to battle but was unable to trim into the lead in the second half.
Cain Barnett had 13 points to lead Cloudland, while Bryce Birchfield added eight points. Nick Caraway scored six points.
Hampton 57, Sullivan East 36
The Bulldogs hit the gas in the second quarter and never looked back.
After trailing 10-9 after eight minutes of play, Hampton outscored Sullivan East 23-8 in the second quarter to take full control.
Bryce Fagan led the way with 16 points, while Jayden Nave had 14 points. Tuff Robinson scored nine points for the Bulldogs. Jackson Smith added seven points.
Unaka 74, Cedar View Christian 19
The Rangers rolled on Thursday night.
Unaka jumped out to a 23-5 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. UHS led 45-10 at the half.
John Hardin led the way with 28 points. Mason Wilson and Rylan Crabtree had nine points apiece, while Aiden Walsh scored eight points.
Cornerstone Christian 61, Happy Valley 45
The Warriors came up short in their first game at the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic at Providence Academy.
Cornerstone lead 39-23 at the half.
Ron Paul Parker had 12 points to lead HV. Artee Bahn had eight points.
Clinton 65, Happy Valley 38
The Warriors were unable to keep pace in the second game of the day.
The Dragons jumped out to a 38-22 lead at the break.
Bahn had 16 points. Austin Nickles added 15 points.
