Tuesday Round-up: Bulldogs Outlast Johnson County, Rangers Win Thriller

Hampton 15, Johnson County 14
The Bulldogs won a thriller on Tuesday afternoon.

After the game was tied at 6-6 going to the fifth, Hampton plated four runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth to take a 15-12 advantage into the seventh. The Longhorns tried to rally with two runs in the seventh but Hampton was able to hold on for the win.

Elisha Henson went 4-for-4 with five RBI, while Gabriel Lyons had two hits and four runs scored. Jaden Kuhn had one hit and two RBI, while Noah Nichols recorded two RBI.

On the mound, Kuhn struck on six batters in three innings of work while allowing just two earned runs on five hits.

Braxton Bragg had three hits and four RBI to lead Johnson County. It was the first game at Hampton for Johnson County Head Coach Nick Perkins after leading the Hampton program from 2007-2024.

West Greene 10, Happy Valley 3
The Warriors were unable to answer a six-run inning by the Buffaloes on Tuesday.

Aiden Hartsook went 2-for-4 at the plate, while Lane Parker, Drew Blevins, Mason Belt, and Grady Goulds each had a hit. Blevins and Gould recorded an RBI apiece.

On the mound, Blevins allowed just two earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts in five innings of work.

Unaka 16, Tri-Cities Christian 14
The Rangers won a back-and-forth battle on Tuesday evening.

Robert Humphrey had three RBI and a hit for UHS, while Cameron Prince, Brandon Buckles, and Laken Barnett each had two RBI.
Cooper Shanks had three runs scored.

FCA Flames 10, Cloudland 0
The ‘Landers dropped a nonconference game on Tuesday afternoon.
Walker Gouge, Jacob Stinett, and Brayden Whitaker each had a hit for Cloudland.

Gouge recorded six strikeouts with one earned run on one hit in three innings of work, while Thomas Job struck out three batters in just over an inning of work.

Softball
Sevier County 12, Hampton 2
Hampton dropped a nonconference game on Tuesday afternoon.

Maleah Scalf, Emma Hughes, Malory Lamb, and Dru Nickles each had a hit with Hadley Vines recording an RBI.

Unicoi County 8, Elizabethton 0
The Lady Cyclones were unable to keep pace with Unicoi on Thursday.

Mikinna Blackwell and Jozey Reece each recorded a hit for EHS.

In the pitching circle, Lacey Gobble struck out five batters and allowed four earned runs on five hits.
