Hampton 63, West Greene 41
After a back-and-forth battle in the first, Hampton rolled in the second half.
The Bulldogs jumped out to a 20-10 lead after a quarter of play, but West Greene was able to cut into the deficit as HHS held a slim 26-24 advantage at the half.
In the second half, it was all Hampton as the Bulldogs outscored WG 37-17 over the final 16 minutes to take the victory.
Jayden Nave and Chase Davenport scored 16 points apiece, while Tuff Robinson had 10 points. Caden Davis added eight points.
Tennessee High 68, Elizabethton 63 (OT)
The Cyclones came up short in a heartbreaker on Tuesday night.
It was a back-and-forth battle as Tennessee High held a slim 13-12 lead after a quarter of play. Elizabethton outscored the Vikings 14-7 in the second to take a 26-20 lead into the half.
The teams continued to trade shots in the third quarter as EHS maintained a 44-36 lead after three complete quarters before the Vikings rallied in the fourth to force overtime. In the extra period, Tennessee High was able to jump into the lead and kept EHS at bay.
Andrew Barnett scored 22 points to lead Elizabethton, while Hudson Pate had 14 points. Justin Whitehead added 12 points.
Girls
West Greene 45, Hampton 33
The Lady Bulldogs were unable to recover from a slow start on Tuesday.
After West Greene took a 13-3 lead after a quarter of play, Hampton continued to battle but trailed 21-10 at the break.
The third quarter saw the Lady Bulldogs make a run by outscoring WG 13-7 in the frame to pull within five, but the Lady Buffaloes were able to stretch the lead in the fourth to take the win.
Piper Helle scored 16 points to pace Hampton, while Faye Carrico had 11 points.
Tennessee High 65, Elizabethton 54
The Lady Cyclones came up short on Tuesday night.
Reagan May scored 14 points to lead Elizabethton, while Jamira Smalls added 12 points. Daisy Parks finished with 11 points.
Addie Wilhoit scored 20 points for Tennessee High.
