Cloudland 66, Avery County (N.C.) 30
The Lady ‘Landers hit the gas early and never looked back.
Cloudland raced out to a 19-9 lead and held a 42-16 advantage at the half.

Isabella Christman scored 27 points – 21 of which came in the first half – to lead Cloudland. Ella Bendfield added 13 points.

Saharra McKinney and Kendall Birchfield had six points apiece.

Unaka 78, Johnson County 66
The Lady Rangers rallied from an early double-digit deficit to take a home win on Tuesday night.

After trailing 25-11 after eight minutes of play, Unaka trimmed the gap to just four points entering the half.

In the second half, Unaka outscored Johnson County 44-28 to take the win.

Lyndie Ramsey came up just shy of a school record performance as she tallied 47 points in the win – just four points shy of the school mark.

Keyona Hague had nine points, while Alisha Harrell and Katlyn Dugger had seven points apiece.

Brookana Hutchins led Johnson County with 19 points.

Happy Valley 48, Cedar View Christian 28
The Lady Warriors rolled to a road win Tuesday night.

Kadie Bailey had 23 points to lead all scorers, while Marcida Moore and Mailey Guy had eight points a piece.

Boys
Avery County (N.C.) 62, Cloudland 48
The ‘Landers were unable to overcome an early deficit in their season-opening contest.

Avery jumped out to a 19-2 lead to open the game, but the ‘Landers continued to battle. However, they were unable to make a late rally on the road.

Ryan Sexton led CHS with 17 points, while Jacob Street added 10 points. Eli Morgan added eight points.

Landon Ingham had 25 points for Avery.

Johnson County 69, Unaka 66
The Rangers came up on the wrong side of a heartbreaker for the second straight night.

Johnson County was able to hold onto the lead in the final seconds to take the win.

Joe-Z Blamo had 27 points to pace Unaka, while Marcus Shomaker had 17 points. Mason Wilson added 10 points.

Connor Simcox led Johnson County with 19 points.
