Tuesday Roundup: Lady ‘Landers Fall At North Greene; Cyclones Rally For Win

The Lady ‘Landers were unable to bounce back from an early deficit on Tuesday.

North Greene took a 1-0 lead in the second, and a Tralyn Southerland grand slam gave the Lady Huskies a 5-0 lead after three complete.

Cloudland, however, answered back with a Reagan Turbyfill home run. The Lady ‘Landers continued to battle in the late innings, but were unable to rally.

Turbyfill led CHS at the plate as she went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Savannah McCoury and Khloe Johnson had a hit and an RBI, while Willow Bennett added a double. Jayla Harper and Eowyn McCoury had a hit apiece.

Turbyfill struck out six batters in the pitching circle.

Hannah Brooks led NG as she went 2-for-4 with two RBI, and also struck out 10 batters in the circle.

Coventry (OH) 12, Elizabethton 10
Brook Sparks, Lacey Gobble, and Kaitlyn Gryder all had two hits and two RBI, but the Lady Cyclones came up short on Tuesday.

Sadie Williams and Ava Hanson added two hits and an RBI apiece, while Gracie Shepard and Piper Bennett had two hits each.

Adrian Heading and Emilee Whitson each added a hit.

Elizabethton 7, Tennessee High 6
The Cyclones rallied in a big way.

EHS entered the bottom of the fifth trailing 6-3. The Cyclones went to work and played three in the bottom of the fifth and what proved to be the winning run in the home side of the sixth to complete the rally as Marshal Holtsclaw hit a sacrifice fly to allow Jackson Buckles to score.

Justin Whitehead went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Carter Reece added two RBI. Elijah Ambrose was 2-for-2 at the plate.

Ryan Kasting and JD Hooks each added a hit. Bo Armstrong and Holtsclaw recorded an RBI apiece.

Whitehead recorded four strikeouts in two innings of work on the mound.

Hampton 14, Cosby 5
The Buldogs used a nine-run third inning to cruise to a win over Cosby at Carson Newman on Tuesday afternoon.

Colby Clark went 3-for-4 with three RBI, including a homerun, while Memphis Nave was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Brock Shelby added two hits. Jayden Kuhn added a hit and an RBI, while Cash Royston, Eland Henson, and Cade Nelson each had an RBI. Eli Henson also recorded a hit.

Kuhn struck out five batters in 2.2 innings of work as he allowed just one earned run on one hit. Clark struck out three and allowed one earned run on no hits in 1.1 innings of work, while Brayden Otey struck out three and allowed just two earned runs on four hits in three innings of work.

Chuckey-Doak 19, Happy Valley 7
The Warriors were unable to battle back from an early deficit despite a hard-fought battle.

Mason Foister had two RBI and a hit. Fermin Carrillo-Estrada went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Mason Belt was 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Warriors.

Grady Goulds added a hit and an RBI, while Greg Lane Parker and Greg Visser each added a hit. Aiden Hartsook had an RBI.
