Unaka was unable to get anything going on Friday night.

The Rangers fell 42-0 to Twin Springs (Va.) in nonconference action on Stoney Creek.

Unaka moves to 0-2 on the season.

It was a back-and-forth battle in the opening quarter.

The Titans used a lengthy drive to move inside the Unaka 20, but the Ranger defense held strong to force Twin Springs off the field on fourth down. UHS, however, was unable to take advantage as the teams swapped fumbles and possessions.

The Titans opened the scoring in the final minute of the first with a Colten Kilgore touchdown to take a 6-0 lead into the second.

Unaka moved the ball to midfield early in the second quarter but was unable to keep the drive alive. The teams traded possessions before TS jumped on a Unaka fumble and took advantage for a touchdown to extend the lead.

Twin Springs scored a total of 22 points in the second quarter to take a 28-0 lead into the locker room at the half.

Unaka kept battling but was unable to mount a comeback in the second half.

Connor McKinney had 100 yards on 15 carries, while AJ Greenless had 11 carries for 57 yards.

Isaiah White led the UHS defense with five solo tackles, an assisted tackle, a pass break-up and also blocked a kick, while McKinney added four solo tackles and an assisted tackle.

The Rangers are set to return to Goddard Field next Friday as they will host region foe Cosby.
