It was a county clash, and the Rangers came out on top.
Unaka iced a 5-1 win over Hampton on Monday with three runs in the top of the seventh.
The Rangers jumped out early as Justin Houghton and Austin King drew walks to plate runs in the fourth inning to take a 2-0 lead.
Hampton answered in the sixth inning as Jerry Lunsford scored on an Austin Vines sacrifice – after Lunsford got on base with a double. The run, however, was all the Bulldogs could muster in the frame.
Unaka got the bats cranking in the top of the seventh as the Rangers added three runs in the frame.
Austin Hill picked up the win on the mound for Unaka, while Wyatt Lyons was handed the loss for Hampton.
