Unaka picked up a pair of county wins on Thursday evening.
The Rangers jumped out early to take a 71-36 victory over Happy Valley, while the Lady Rangers stormed to a 58-18 win over the Lady Warriors on Warrior Hill.
In the boys’ game, Unaka jumped out to a 19-8 advantage in the first quarter and took a 38-17 lead into the half.
The Warriors kept fighting, but the Rangers continued to pull away for the win.
John Hardin led Unaka with 28 points. Zach Waillin added 10 points, while Austin Lambert and Cooper Smith added eight points each. Aiden Walsh scored six points.
Lane Parker paced Happy Valley with 10 points. Ethan Honeycutt scored six points, while Jackson Grindstaff and Grady Goulds had five points apiece.
In the girls’ game, Unaka took control early as they stormed out to take a 26-2 lead after a quarter of play. In the second quarter, the teams nearly played even, but the Lady Warriors were unable to cut into the deficit as Unaka maintained a 37-10 lead at the half.
Michelle Shields led Unaka with 25 points. Arianna Sutherland scored 10 points, while Emma Whitaker had eight points.
Bailee Jarrett led HV with six points. Kymber Pruitt scored five points.
