Warriors Fall In District 1-2A Quarterfinals

Happy Valley was unable to extend the season on Thursday night.

The No. 6 Warriors were unable to overcome a slow start as they fell 65-34 to No. 3 South Greene in the District 1-2A Quarterfinals at South Greene. With the loss, HV’s season comes to an end.

South Greene took an early lead as they outscored the Warriors 15-4 in the opening quarter with Lane Parker providing all four of HV’s points. The Warriors, however, battled back in the second quarter as Jackson Grindstaff, Grady Goulds, and Zach Rose each added key shots as HV cut into the deficit as SG held a slim 22-16 lead at the half.

The Warriors continued to battle in the second half, but the Rebels used a run to get some breathing room as they outscored HV 23-13 in the quarter.

Goulds led HV with 12 points, while Parker added 10 points. Grindstaff finished with five points.

Jameson White and Gavin Dyer recorded 23 and 15 points, respectively, while Noah Wright added 13 points.
