Happy Valley was looking for a Three Rivers sweep on Tuesday on Warrior Hill, but Sullivan East had an other plan.

The Lady Warriors were unable to answer a Lady Patriot run as Sullivan East picked up a 76-61 win, while the Patriots used a strong second quarter to take a 62-47 victory over the Warriors.

In the girls’ game, it was all Lady Warriors early.

A barrage of 3-points helped Happy Valley take a 21-13 lead in the first quarter. However, a Lady Patriot run at the end of the second quarter gave SE a six-point advantage at the break.

Happy Valley continued to fight, but East extended the lead to 16 points over the third quarter to take control.

Emily Whitaker had 15 points to lead the Lady Warriors. Kaitlyn Roberts tossed in 13 points. Adrienne Henegar and Tiana Long had eight points apiece.

In the boys’ game, Happy Valley stayed toe-to-toe with the Patriots over the first quarter ending the quarter knotted at 24-24. However, the Warriors were limited to just three points in the second as Sullivan East extended the lead to double-digits and never looked back.

Sam Blevins had 16 points to lead the Warriors. Brayden Sams and Austin Hicks tallied eight points apiece.
