Warriors, Lady Warriors fall in Three Rivers Finale

Happy Valley came up short on Warrior Hill Friday night.

The Warriors dropped a 66-55 decision against Unicoi County in Three Rivers action, while the Lady Warriors saw a rally come up short in a 64-55 loss to the Lady Blue Devils.


In the boys’ game, Happy Valley was unable to counter the Blue Devils’ Trevor Hensley as the sharpshooter tallied 34 points.

The Warriors went toe-to-toe with Unicoi as they trailed 34-33 at the break. However, Hensley and the Blue Devils were able to extend the lead and hold on for the victory.

Noah Worley tallied 11 points to pace Happy Valley. Isaiah Rhodes added 10 points, while Brayden Sams and Austin Hicks had nine points apiece.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Warriors found themselves in an early hole.

Happy Valley, however, continued to battle as they trailed 35-30 at the half. Unicoi maintained a lead and held on for the victory in the closing stages.

Adrienne Henegar had a game-high 19 points to lead the Lady Warriors. Michael Frazier and Kaitlyn Roberts added nine points apiece.

Happy Valley is set to host University High on Monday for Senior Night on Warrior Hill.
