It took a rally, but Happy Valley got the job done.

The Warriors erased a double-digit lead to storm to an important 41-24 victory over region foe Sullivan North on Friday night.

With the win, Happy Valley improves to 2-0 on the year and 1-0 in region play.

Happy Valley got things started quickly as Sage Haun hit Skylar Hyatt for a 58-yard touchdown pass on the game’s opening drive. After a Raider touchdown, Haun found Kai Norman for a beautiful 25-yard touchdown pass to push the lead to 14-6. However, North closed the gap on a Peyton Robinson touchdown run as HV maintained a 14-12 lead after a quarter of play.

Christian Arnold broke free on a short pass and race 80 yards to give North their first lead of the night, as SN held an 18-14 lead at the break.

In the third quarter, HV found themselves down 24-14 after an Arnold run, and that is how things would stay heading to the final 12 minutes.

Dustun Sams closed the gap for the Warriors on a touchdown run to open the quarter, and Haun struck again – this time to Austin Hicks – after the HV defense forced a three-and-out. The Haun-to-Hicks touchdown with 5:34 to play gave the Warriors a 28-24 lead.

Happy Valley ended the ensuing North drive by recovering a fumble, and the HV offense took advantage as Haun hit Hyatt for a 24-yard strike. Hicks capped off the scoring with 2:33 to play with a 31-yard run to start the celebration among the Warrior faithful.

Haun finished the game 17-of-23 for 215 yards and four scores. Hyatt finished with 78 yards on six catches with two scores. Dylan Street added 102 yards on the ground, while Hicks tallied 74 yards.
