Mother Nature won round one.

Due to impending weather, the District 1-A and 1-AA tournaments saw Monday action postponed.

The District 1-A tournament at Daniel Boone will attempt to resume on Tuesday with four games. Cloudland-North Greene girls will kick off the evening at 4 p.m., with the consolation game. Following the UH-North Greene boys consolation at 5:30, the Hampton ladies will square off against South Greene for the District 1-A title at 7 p.m., and the Hampton boys will take on South Greene at 8:30 for the boys title.

Should Tuesday be postponed, the tournament will attempt the same schedule on Wednesday.

For District 1-AA, the attempt will also be made to play four games on Tuesday. Happy Valley girls will face Unicoi County at 3:30p., in the girls consolation game with Unicoi-Sullivan East at 5p., in the boys’ consolation. The Lady Cyclones will look to claim the district title against Sullivan East at 6:30p., and the Cyclones will square off against Sullivan South at 8p.

Due to the winter weather gripping the state, the TSSAA has amended the Regional tournament schedule. The girls quarterfinals will now be slated for Monday, Feb. 23, while the boys quarterfinals will be on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Those games will be at the higher seed.

Both the boys and girls semifinals will be on Wednesday at Chuckey-Doak High School for 1-A and Sullivan East for 1-AA, and the championships will be set for Thursday, Feb. 25.
