Elizabethton was unable to answer a late run on Thursday in Tampa.
The short-handed Cyclones came up short in their first game of the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational as they fell 68-61 to Seffner Christian.
The game was back-and-forth from the opening tip as Seffner held a slim 31-27 lead at the half.
The teams continued to swap points and the lead with Elizabethton holding a 58-57 advantage with just over four minutes to go.
However, Seffner was able to make a run to take the lead and hold on to take the win.
Jake Roberts had 15 points for the Cyclones, while Seth Carter had 14 points. Nicholas Wilson tossed in 12 points.
Nate Stephens added six points.
