It took Elizabethton a couple of minutes to get warmed up. However, there was no looking back as they hit full song.

The Lady Cyclones rolled to a 82-17 victory over Claiborne in the Regional 1-AA quarterfinals on Monday night in Elizabethton.

The win moves Elizabethton into the semifinals against Chuckey-Doak at Sullivan East on Wednesday.

After the teams traded points to open the game, Elizabethton outscored Claiborne 15-1 to take a 19-5 lead after a quarter of play. Sarah Robinson opened the second quarter with a jumper and Emily Kiser drained a 3-pointer to get the Lady Cyclones off to the races. Nine straight points from Kelci Marosites helped push the lead to over 30 points, and Elizabethton held a 52-12 lead at the half after Emily Schubert swished a jumper.

The second half continued to be all Elizabethton. Kayla Marosites opened the third with a trey that set off a quick 10-0 Elizabethton run. The Lady Cyclones scored at will the rest of the way to advance into Wednesday’s semifinals.

Ka. Marosites finished with 25 points, while Ke. Marosites tossed in 19 points. Megan Pietrowski, Schubert and Robinson had six points apiece, while Melenda Perry and Kiser also wrapped the game up with six points.

The Lady Cyclones will look to punch their ticket to the regional final as well as substate against Chuckey-Doak on Wednesday. That game is set for a 4 p.m., tip at Sullivan East.
