Elizabethton 74, Unicoi County 36 (girls)
The Lady Cyclones took care of business in a big way.
Renna Lane scored seven points in the opening eight minutes to power Elizabethton to a 19-4 lead after a quarter of play. Lina Lyon scored six points in the second as EHS kept their foot on the gas to take a 36-8 halftime lead.
From there, Elizabethton was able to cruise to the win.
Lyon had 14 points to lead Elizabethton, while Reiley Whitson added 12 points. Marlee Mathena scored 10 points.
Lane finished with nine points.
Happy Valley 47, West Greene 41 (girls)
The Lady Warriors held on for a hard-fought district victory on Friday night.
Kadie Bailey scored 19 points to lead the way for the Lady Warriors, while Marcia Moore had 13 points.
Mailey Guy led 11 points for the Lady Warriors.
Unaka 62, Chuckey-Doak 57 (girls)
The Lady Rangers outlasted Chuckey-Doak for a nonconference win.
After the first quarter ended in a 14-14 stalemate, Unaka saw the Lady Black Knights take a. slim one-point lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Unaka regained the lead in a back-and-forth battle.
The final quarter saw Lyndie Ramsey take care of business at the free-throw line to secure the win.
Ramsey finished with 36 points. Haley Taylor had 11 points, while Katelyn Dugger had six points.
Cloudland 66, University High 15 (girls)
The Lady ‘Landers hit the gas and never looked back.
Cloudland started quickly and rolled to a 45-4 halftime lead over the Lady Bucs.
Izabella Christman had 26 points to pace the Lady ‘Landers while Ella Benfield tallied 18 points.
Unicoi County 70, Elizabethton 59 (boys)
The Cyclones came up short on Friday night against Unicoi County.
UC held a 14-10 lead after a quarter of play and pushed the advantage to 27-18 at the half.
Elizabethton continued to battle as they trimmed the lead to five points after three complete quarters. However, Unicoi was able to secure the win in the final quarter.
Mason Ball had 21 points to pace Elizabethton. Nate Stephens added 15 points, while Dalton Mitchell scored 11 points. Jackson Hobbs added 10 points.
West Greene 65, Happy Valley 31 (boys)
The Warriors came up short in league play Friday night.
West Greene jumped out to a 24-12 lead and pushed the lead to 38-19 at the half despite a hard-fought effort by the Warriors.
Ron Parker had 14 points to lead HV, while Austin Nickles had eight points. Dakota Grindstaff added seven points.
Leyton Frye led West Greene with 22 points, while Ethan Turner added 18 points.
Chuckey-Doak 91, Unaka 39 (boys)
The Rangers were unable to keep up with the hot-shooting Black Knights.
A back-and-forth first quarter saw CD take a 14-10 lead into the second quarter, and a run in the second quarter pushed the lead to 32-10 at the half.
Unaka continued to battle, but the Black Knights pushed the lead to 69-32 after three complete quarters.
Brayden Powell had 10 points to lead Unaka.
University High 74, Cloudland 41 (boys)
The ‘Landers were unable to keep pace with the Bucs inside Brooks Gym.
Eli Morgan had 15 points to pace Cloudland, while Ryan Sexton added 12 points.
AJ Murphy led UH with 23 points.
