Hampton’s McClain, Unaka’s Ramsey Selected To TSWA Class A All-State Team

The Tennessee Sports Writers Association Class A All-State team had a strong Carter County representation.

Hampton’s Madi McClain and Unaka’s Lyndie Ramsey were selected to the All-State team that was released on Tuesday morning.

McClain finished her outstanding senior campaign with 13 points and six assists per game as she was a key piece in Hampton’s run to the state semifinals.

She was named the District 1-A Tournament and Region 1-A Tournament MVP.

Ramsey closed out a historic career with a great senior season as she averaged a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds per game.

She was the District 1-A Player of the Year and ended her career with 2,902 points.

McClain has signed with Southwest Virginia to continue her athletic and academic career, while Ramsey is set to sign with ETSU on Wednesday.

The two were joined by Elizabethton’s Renna Lane and Lina Lyon as All-State selections this season.
