Elizabethton stormed its way to the District 1-3A Championship.
The Lady Cyclones opened up a double-digit lead in the second quarter and never looked back as EHS defeated Unicoi County 56-33 inside Treadway Gymnasium.
It is Elizabethton’s second consecutive District 1-3A Championship.
EHS will open the Region 1-3A tournament on Friday night against Claiborne at home.
On Monday night, it was all Elizabethton.
Marlee Mathena set the tone early as she scored eight points as EHS held a 19-11 lead after a quarter of play.
Four Lady Cyclones found the scorebook in the second quarter while the defense held the Lady Blue Devils to just six points as EHS was able to stretch the lead to 30-17 at the half.
Elizabethton outscored Unicoi 12-5 in the third quarter to take full control and was never threatened.
Mathena, who was named the Tournament MVP, had 21 points to lead the way for Elizabethton, while Lyon had 11 points.
Renna Lane scored seven points for the Orange and Black.
Jocelyn Metcalf led Unicoi with 12 points.
