Elizabethton was unable to rally back in the second half on Monday night.
The Lady Cyclones were unable to keep pace with a torrid Daniel Boone attack as EHS fell 83-45 in the District 1-3A Championship game at Sullivan East. Elizabethton is set to open the Region 1-3A tournament on Friday night as the Lady Cyclones will host Grainger.
The first half was a back-and-forth battle.
Daniel Boone used an 8-0 midway through the first to take an 18-11 lead, but the Lady Cyclones trimmed the lead to five points after a quarter of play.
Elizabethton outscored Boone 15-6 over the next four minutes to take a seven-point lead, but Boone answered with a 10-0 run and the Lady Trailblazers took a 38-32 lead at the half.
In the second half, Daniel Boone continued to hold momentum despite a hard-fought Elizabethton effort.
Rylee May led Elizabethton with 15 points. Addison Bunn added 13 points, and Adrian Heading scored six points.
Andrea Flores led Daniel Boon with 34 points. Aaliyah Story added 24 points.
