The Lady Cyclones started the District 1-AA tournament off in style on Monday night.

Elizabethton rolled to a 15-0 victory over Happy Valley in the Winner’s Bracket semifinals to advance to Tuesday’s winner’s bracket finale, while the Lady Warriors will square off against Sullivan East at 7 p.m., in an elimination game.

The Cyclones were propelled by Maci West’s as the senior recorded a three-run homerun and a grand slam in the fourth inning.

Elizabethton jumped out early as Macie Herrmann scored off a Lauren Brickey double, and then West’s home run pushed the lead to 3-0. Haley Fair gave EHS a 4-0 lead when Hannah Edwards hit a single.

The Cyclones added four more runs in the second and never looked back.

Kira Dillard was 3-for-4, while Maggie Johnson, Edwards, West and Brickey each had two hits each. West had an impressive six RBI with her two home runs.

For HV, Makaela Hughes, Abby Holt and Kadie Havner registered a hit apiece.

In the circle, Brickey pitched to the win for EHS as she allowed just three hits while striking out nine Lady Warriors.
