The Happy Valley softball program was unable to extend the season on Monday afternoon.
The Lady Warriors fell 13-1 to Johnson County in the opening round of the District 1-2A Tournament in Mountain City. With the loss, Happy Valley’s season comes to a close.
HV took advantage of an early Johnson County miscue as Katie Hall, who was running for Trinity Bowers, scored to give the Lady Warriors a 1-0 lead in the first. Johnson County, however, responded with three runs in the third and five more in the second to take control.
Happy Valley continued to battle, but was unable to rally.
Bowers reached base via error for the Lady Warriors.
Ezzy Barr allowed just one unearned run on no hits in five innings of work for Johnson County as she recorded 12 strikeouts.
