Cloudland 18, North Greene 7
The Lady ‘Landers pulled away for a district win on Monday in Roan Mountain.
After CHS took a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the fourth, the Lady ‘Landers plated five runs in the home side of the frame and added an exclamation point in the sixth with seven runs to take the win.
Reagan Turbyfill was 3-for-4, including a homerun with four RBI, while Willow Bennett added two hits with a homerun and six RBI. Peyton Preswood had three hits and an RBI, while Regan Blair added two RBI.
Eowyn McCoury and Savannah McCoury had two hits apiece. Jayla Harper had a hit and an RBI, and Khloe Johnson added a hit.
Turbyfill struck out five batters in six innings of work.
West Greene 6, Happy Valley 5 (8 Innings)
The Lady Warriors came up short in an extra-innings thriller.
HV scored a run in the seventh to tie the game at 5-5, but West Greene was able to walk it off in the bottom of the eighth.
Trinity Bowers was 3-for-4 wth an RBI, while Chloe Cochran and Alex Moore had two hits and an RBI apiece. Addison Moore had two RBI with a hit.
Emily Miller had two hits. Mackenzie Skeans and Tierra Collins added a hit apiece.
Johnson County 10, Hampton 0
The Lady Bulldogs were unable to keep pace with the Johnson County bats on Monday.
Lauren Smith and Lillian Andrews each had a hit for Hampton.
Karlie Fletcher had two hits and two RBI to pace Johnson County.
Baseball
Patrick Henry (Va) 7, Hampton 6
The Bulldogs were unable to answer a seventh-inning run by Patrick Henry.
After Patrick Henry jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first, Hampton battled back with four runs of their own in the third. The Bulldogs plated two in the fourth to take a 6-4 lead, but Patrick Henry answered with two of their own to tie the game at 6-6.
Patrick Henry plated a run in the top of the seventh on a sacrifice fly, and the Bulldogs were unable to answer.
Eli Henson and Colby Clark each had two hits apiece, while Eland Henson had a hit and an RBI. Memphis Nave and Cade Nelson recorded an RBI each.
Jayden Kuhn and Kasey Gilbert both had a hit.
