Elizabethton locked down and took care of business Monday evening.

The Cyclones held University High scoreless in the final five innings to take an 8-4 victory at Cardinal Park in nonconference action.

Elizabethton took a 2-0 lead when Steven Meadows hit a single to score Kaleb Hambrick and Peyton Johnson, and EHS pushed the lead when Andrew Barnett scored. UH, however, answered in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 3-3.

Brilee Hurley scored off a Hambrick double to push Cyclones back in front, but the Bucs countered with a run of their own in the home side of the frame.

EHS took the lead as Hurley scored off a wild pitch in the top of the fourth. The Cyclones added another run as Jack Farris crossed home plate after Hambrick put the ball in play.

EHS added two runs in the top of the sixth as Bryson Rowland and Brayden Buckles plated RBIs.

From there, the Cyclones were able to hold the Bucs at bay to secure the win.
Hambrick finished the night with three hits and two RBI.
