Unaka defended home turf on Monday evening.
The Lady Rangers picked up a 9-2 victory over Cloudland in league play.
UHS took control early with two runs in the bottom of the first, and two more in the bottom of the second.
The Lady Rangers pushed the lead out with three more runs in the third.
Cloudland continued to battle with single runs in the fourth and fifth, but CHS was unable to mount a rally.
Mattie Salyer was 3-for-4 to lead Unaka, while Trinity Bowers, Jill Faust, Haley Taylor, and Kylie Blevins had two hits apiece.
Faust finished with two RBIs. Lyndie Ramsey added a hit for the Unaka cause.
Ella Benfield and Cora Gibbs were 2-for-3 at the plate for Cloudland, while Regan Blair had an inside-the-park homerun.
Ryan Turbyfill and Eowyn McCoury also recorded hits for the Lady ‘Landers.
In the pitching circle, Bowers picked up the win as she allowed just two earned runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts in a complete-game effort.
Kendall Birchfield allowed just four earned runs for Cloudland.
