Tuesday Round-up: County Teams Fall Short In Tuesday Action

Claiborne 74, Happy Valley 47 (boys)
The Warriors were unable to keep pace with Claiborne on Tuesday evening at the North Greene Thanksgiving Classic.

The Warriors kept within striking distance in the first quarter, but Claiborne used a run to get some breathing room heading into the half.

Landon Babb and Troy Williams had 12 points apiece, while James Murray added seven points.

Daniel Boone 58, Unaka 33 (boys)
The Rangers saw a hard-fought effort come up short on Tuesday in the Hardee’s Classic.

Unaka went toe-to-toe with the Trailblazers in the first half as they trailed 20-18 at the break. Daniel Boone, however, used a run to get some separation in the third and then held off the Rangers in the final eight minutes.

Joseph Slagle led Unaka with 12 points, while Landon Ramsey had 10 points.

Devin Ramsey and Will Sexton had six and five points, respectively.

David Crockett 70, Cloudland 21 (boys)
The short-handed ‘Landers were unable to keep pace in the opening game of the Hardee’s Class.

Donte Williams had 10 points to lead Cloudland, while Victor Hicks had seven points.

South Greene 66, Hampton 53 (Girls)
The Lady Bulldogs came up short in the Food City Thanksgiving Classic at Sullivan East.

The Lady Bulldogs held an 11-10 lead after a quarter of play but saw SG pull ahead in the second stanza. Hampton continued to battle but was unable to get back in front.

Linsey Jenkins had 13 points to lead Hampton, while Taylor Berry had 12 points.
Madi McClain and Piper Helle had nine points apiece.

Sullivan East 68, Happy Valley 32 (girls)
The Lady Warriors were unable to recover from an early deficit in Tuesday action at the Food City Thanksgiving Classic at Sullivan East.

Kadie Bailey had 13 points to lead HV, while Marcida Moore had seven points.
