Tuesday Round-Up: Kuhn’s Walk Off Grand Slam Lifts Hampton To Sweep Of NG

Hampton 10, North Greene 9
The Bulldogs walked it off in style Tuesday night.

Freshman Jaden Kuhn hit a shot over the left field fence for a walk-off grand slam against North Greene for a crucial league win and sweep over North Greene.

After North Greene took a 7-1 lead into the bottom of the fifth, the Bulldogs chipped away with two runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth.

North Greene added two runs to the advantage in the top of the seventh to take a 9-6 lead into the final frame.

After Jaden Hensley, Josh Whitson, and Chance Point recorded hits to load the bases, it set the stage for Kuhn’s game-winner.

Kuhn finished with four RBI and two hits. Jonathon Greenwell, Elisha Henson, and Whitson had two hits apiece.

Elizabethton 11, Grainger 1
The Cyclones plated eight runs in the fourth and never looked back.

Bryson Rowland had three RBI and two hits for the Orange and Black, while Brayden Buckles had two hits. Brilee Hurley, Steven Meadows, Peyton Johnson, and Kaleb Hambrick had a hit a piece.

Johnson was the winning pitcher as he allowed just one hit and one unearned run in five innings of work with seven strikeouts.

West Greene 7, Happy Valley 6
A furious HV rally came up heartbreakingly short on Tuesday night.

After the Buffaloes took a 6-1 lead after the second inning, HV plated five runs over the next two innings to tie things up going to the bottom of the fourth.

West Greene, however, plated a run in the fourth to regain the lead, and the Warriors were unable to answer in the closing stages.

Gabe McDouglad had three RBI, Pedro Colunga had two hits for the Warriors. Cade Kendall and Colunga each added an RBI.

University High 11, Unaka 0
the Rangers were unable to keep pace with the UH bats on Tuesday night.

Brayden Powell had two hits for Unaka, while Logan Lewis, Rylan Crabtree, and Cooper Shanks each had a hit for Unaka.

Softball
Gate City 9, Elizabethton 2
The Lady Cyclones were unable to rally late on Tuesday.

Gate City jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second, and was able to hold off the Lady Cyclones in the closing stages despite a hard-fought effort.

Kenidy Harris was 2-for-3 at the plate, while Ember Jensen and Cheyenne Poiroux added a hit apiece.

Mollie Johnson had four strikeouts in four innings of work in the circle, while Lela Byrd had struck out two batters in relief work.

North Greene 3, Unaka 1
The Lady Rangers came up short on the road Tuesday afternoon.

After NG took a 3-0 lead after three innings, Unaka plated a run in the top of the sixth but was unable to keep the rally going.

Jill Faust had an RBI for the Lady Rangers, while Kylie Blevins, Lyndie Ramsey, Trinity Bowers, Kendall Barton, and Haley Taylor each had a hit.

In the circle, Bowers allowed just one earned run on four hits with 10 strikeouts.

Cambell Gaby had an RBI and a hit for the Lady Huskies and also picked up the win in the pitching circle.
