Cloudland pulled away from a determined Hampton squad on Tuesday.
The Lady ‘Landers picked up a 12-2 victory over the Lady Bulldogs in Roan Mountain.
After Hampton went quietly in the top of the first, Cloudland saw Regan Blair open the bottom of the first with a lead-off home run. Kendall Birchfield added a run in the frame to give CHS a 2-0 lead after an inning of play.
Hampton got a run back in the top of the first as Abbie Lunsford touched home plate to close the gap to 2-1.
Ryleigh Nickles circled the bases in the top of the third to even things up at 2-2.
Cloudland started to take control in the bottom of the third.
The Lady ‘Landers loaded the bases before plating three runs in the frame to regain the lead.
Cloudland added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth, and home runs from Savannah McCoury, Birchfield and Blair secured the win for the Lady ‘Landers.
Ryan Turbyfill and Blair had three hits apiece for Cloudland.
Nickles had two hits for the Lady Bulldogs.
