Tuesday Round-up: Lady ‘Landers roll past Sullivan North

Cloudland 15, Sullivan North 4 (softball)
The Lady ‘Landers left no doubt.

Cloudland erased a 3-1 deficit after an inning of play and scored 14 of the next 15 runs to take the win.

Heaven Caraway led the way as she went 4-for-5 with four RBI at the plate. Karah Fields added four hits of her own, while Jasmine Birchfield had three hits and three RBI.

Gracie Freeman and Marlee Hughes each had three hits apiece as well.

Fields picked up the win in the pitching circle as she allowed just three earned runs on four hits in a complete-game effort.

Happy Valley 6, Johnson County 4 (softball)
The Lady Warriors rallied past Johnson County on Tuesday night. Laura Rice pushed Olivia Absher and Cierra Southerland across home plate in the seventh inning to give HV the lead and ultimately the win.

Absher led the way as she was 3-for-3 at the plate, while Allie Grindstaff and Rice had two RBI apiece.

In the pitching circle, Abby Holt picked up the complete-game win as she struck out six batters and allowed just four earned runs on 10 hits.

Elizabethton 5, Sullivan South 1 (softball)
The Lady Cyclones broke open a 1-1 stalemate with four runs in the fifth inning to take the win.

Kallista Deprimo had four hits to lead Elizabethton, while Mollie Johnson added three hits for the Lady Cyclones. Maddie O’Quinn, Cheyenne Poiroux and Emma Pendagrass had two hits apiece.

Madisun Pritchard pitched to the win as she allowed just one earned run on 10 hits with nine strikeouts for the Lady Cyclones.

Unaka 16, University High 2 (softball)
Unaka scored early and often in a rout of University High Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Rangers plated four runs in the first and added five more in the second inning, and never looked back from there.

Trinity Bowers went 4-for-4 with two RBI at the plate, while Alana Parsons was 3-for-4 with three RBI. Kendall Bare finished with four RBI for the Lady Rangers.

Kailey Wilson picked up the win in the pitching circle as she allowed just two earned runs on five hits.

Elizabethton 14, Johnson County 2 (baseball)
The Cyclones plated eight runs in the first as they rolled past Johnson County.

Padraig Murphy was 2-for-2 with two RBI, while Gage Treadway and Jaden Anderson had two RBI apiece.

Treadway was the winning pitcher as he allowed just three earned runs on two hits with four strikeouts.

Sullivan North 23, Unaka 7 (baseball)
The Rangers were unable to keep up the hot bats of the Raiders.

Lucas Carr recorded three hits along with two RBI for the Rangers, while Michael Duvall, Jaycob Nidiffer and Brayden Powell had two hits apiece.
