Tuesday Round-up: Willocks lifts Cyclones to win; Unaka drops two at Science Hill



Elizabethton 65, David Crockett 63 (boys)
The Cyclones won on a buzzer-beater for the second night in a row.

Will Willocks knocked down a shot as the buzzer sounded to send Elizabethton to the win. The Cyclones erased a double-digit deficit in the first quarter to pull within five points after eight minutes of play.

The teams continued to battle the rest of the way.

Willocks finished with 27 points, while Nicholas Wilson scored 14 points in the game. Jake Roberts and Brayden Phillips had 11 points apiece.

Science Hill 82, Unaka 25 (boys)
The Rangers were unable to keep pace with a high-powered offense on Tuesday night.

The Class AAA Hilltoppers jumped out early and then used a 25-6 second quarter to take control.

Joseph Slagle had 12 points to pace the Rangers.

Science Hill 53, Unaka 36 (girls)
The upset-minded Lady Rangers came up short on Wednesday.

Unaka stayed within striking distance throughout the first half, but the Lady Hilltoppers used a 21-9 run in the third quarter to extend the lead.

Lyndie Ramsey led Unaka with 19 points. Macy Ensor finished with 12 points.

Unicoi 48, Hampton 27 (girls)
The Lady Bulldogs came up short on the road Tuesday night.

Madi McClain scored 11 points and Destini Milhorn added 10 points to the Lady Bulldog cause.
