It wasn’t pretty, but the Lady Cyclones will take it.

Elizabethton overcame a lengthy scoring drought in the second quarter to take a 58-39 victory over Daniel Boone on Saturday night.

The win moves the Lady Cyclones to 17-0 on the season.

After the teams traded buckets in the first quarter, Elizabethton held a 12-10 lead with Kelci Marosites providing a scoring boost. The end of the first and majority of the second quarter wasn’t kind to the Elizabethton offense as Kayla Marosites broke the drought with just under three minutes to play in the half. EHS held a 20-18 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, the Lady Trailblazers jumped ahead early in the third quarter. However, an Emily Kiser basket and foul shot pushed the Lady Cyclones back in front to spark an Elizabethton run. That gave EHS a 10-point lead heading to the final quarter.

From there, the Lady Cyclones slowly added to the lead during the final quarter.

Ka. Marosites finished with 20 points, while Ke. Marosites had 18 points.
