Cyclones Hand Cherokee First Loss Of The Season

Elizabethton took care of business Friday night.

The Cyclones stormed out to take a 37-15 victory over previously undefeated Cherokee on Homecoming 2026 inside Citizens Bank Stadium.

Elizabethton opened the scoring early in the first as Jacoby Estell recovered a Cherokee fumble and rumbled seven yards for the scoop-and-score. After a snap on a Cherokee punt sailed through the endzone for a safety, the Cyclones took a 9-0 lead after a quarter of play.

In the second quarter, Peyton Lingerfelt found Braylon Britt for a seven-yard touchdown as EHS held a 16-0 lead at the half.
Lingerfelt pushed the lead to 23-0 with a 13-yard touchdown run three minutes into the third quarter. After Cherokee answered, William McDuffie broke into the end zone on a 21-yard touchdown run.

McDuffie scored on a 10-yard run after a Carter Reece blocked punt to give EHS a 37-8 lead after three complete quarters.

Callen Reed and Estell each had an interception for Elizabethton.
