Cyclones Fall To Daniel Boone

Elizabethton came up short in a heartbreaker on Friday night.

The Cyclones dropped a 7-0 decision to Daniel Boone at ETSU’s William B. Greene Stadium in nonconference action.

With the loss, Elizabethton falls to 0-3 on the year, while Daniel Boone improves to 4-0.

The Cyclones had to battle from behind early.

After the Cyclone defense forced a Trailblazer punt on the opening drive of the game, Daniel Boone downed the ball at the one-yard line.

Two plays later, an Elizabethton fumble on the handoff ended up in the hands of Dalton Cloyd for the defensive touchdown for the Trailblazers.

Elizabethton continued to battle as the defense held strong against the Trailblazer offense.

In the fourth quarter, EHS moved into Daniel Boone territory in the closing minutes – including a first down at the 21-yard line.

The Cyclones, however, were unable to find the endzone to even the score.
Nate Stephens led Elizabethton with 17 carries for 95 yards.

EHS had 144 rushing yards for the game.

The Cyclone defense held Daniel Boone to just 132 yards of total offense.
