Elizabethton sweeps Daniel Boone

The Lady Cyclones continued the impressive start to the season, while the Cyclones had to pull away late.

Elizabethton girls remained undefeated on the season with 67-25 non conference victory over Daniel Boone on Tuesday night in Gray, while the Cyclones pulled away in the fourth quarter to take a 58-43 win.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Cyclones opened the game on a 14-0 run and never looked back as they rolled to a 20-point lead at the end of the first quarter, and maintained a 34-8 lead at the break.

From there, Elizabethton continued to control the game.

Kayla Marosites had 22 points to pace the Lady Cyclones, while Kelci Marosites had 15 points.

Emily Kiser had 13 points for Elizabethton.

In the boys’ game, the Cyclones doubled up the Trailblazers in the fourth quarter to take the victory. Elizabethton took a 14-12 lead at the end of the first quarter with an Adam Cornett 3-pointer.

The second quarter saw Elizabethton open up a nine-point lead to take a 26-17 lead into the half.

Bo Pless tallied 16 rebounds and 15 points to lead Elizabethton, while Michael Robinson had 19 points. Jaaen Smith tallied eight points for the Cyclones.
