Former Cyclone Rollins Named USA South Rookie Of The Week In Collegiate Debut

Former Elizabethton standout Bryson Rollins had quite the collegiate debut on Saturday.

The former Cyclone and current Maryville College quarterback was named the USA South Rooke of the Year after his performance in the season-opening contest.

Rollins, a true freshman, had 266 total offensive yards with three touchdowns – including two passing and one on the ground.

The quarterback completed 15-of-29 passing for 228 yards.

Maryville has a strong Carter County contingent as Rollins hit former Elizabethton standout, Corey Russell, for 23 yards on three catches, while another Elizabethton standout Wes Erwin received the starting nod on the offensive line.

Former Cloudland standout Eli Preswood also received playing time on special teams.

Rollins and company are back in action Saturday night at Centre (1-0).
