Happy Valley took care of business Friday night.
The Warriors scored 30 points in the second quarter as part of a 49-0 win over Region 1-2A foe Cosby on Warrior Hill. HV improves to 2-2 on the year and 1-1 in Region 1-2A action.
After the HV defense forced Cosby off the field with a three-and-out to open the game, Andrew Little took the handoff and raced 35 yards for the touchdown to give HV a 6-0 lead three minutes into the game.
The Warrior defense forced another quick Cosby drive, and then the HV offense went to work with a 14-play drive. Gabe Nickles capped off the drive on the opening play of the second quarter with a one-yard touchdown run.
Matthew Bahn added the two-point conversion.
From there, it was all Happy Valley.
Landon Babb scored on a two-yard run to push the lead to 20-0, and Bahn scored on a nine-yard run midway through the quarter.
Eli Ayers hit Babb for the two-point conversion to push the lead to 28-0.
The Warriors weren’t finished yet as Ayers found Little for a 29-yard touchdown pass with just over a minute remaining in the half. HV added the two-point conversion on a Bahn run to take a 36-0 lead into the locker room.
Alex Lunceford and Ayers connected for a score in the third quarter, while Pedro Colunga scored on a three-yard run in the fourth to account for the scoring.
Ayers finished the game 4-for-5 passing for 79 yards, while Little had 64 yards on five carries.
Bahn finished the night with nine carries for 49 yards.
