Two Carter County seniors continue to be recognized for their on-court achievements.
Elizabethton’s Kayla Marosites and Happy Valley’s Kalee Johnson were named to the Class AA TSWA All-State team as announced on Thursday morning.
The Lady Cyclones’ Marosites was named for the third straight year, and was selected the Class AA Miss Basketball for the second season in a row. She averaged just over 22 points per game. The senior had a stellar career for Elizabethton as she surpassed the 2,200-point mark for her career.
Happy Valley’s Johnson showcased an all-around game this season as she tallied over 23 points per game to go with just under 10 rebounds a game. Johnson is Happy Valley’s all-time leading scorer for the women’s program. It is the second time that Johnson was selected to the All-State team.
Both Marosites and Johnson will play at the next level as Marosites has signed with ETSU and Johnson has signed at UVA-Wise.
