It was a split night on Warrior Hill.

The Lady Warriors rolled to a 56-34 win over West Greene with a strong defensive effort, while the Happy Valley boys were unable to overcome a fast West Greene start in a 72-42 decision.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Warriors took control in the second half.

After the teams were tied at nine apiece to end the first quarter, West Greene held a slim 22-20 advantage at the half.

Happy Valley got rolling from there.

The Lady Warriors outscored WG 18-8 in the third quarter to take the lead and held West Greene to just one field goal over the final eight minutes to take the win.

Kadie Bailey had 30 points to lead the way for the Lady Warriors. Holly Moore had eight points, while Marcida Moore had seven points.

In the boys’ game, the Warriors were unable to overcome a quick start by the Buffaloes.

West Greene raced out to a 24-6 lead after a quarter play and pushed the advantage to 48-15 at the half.

The Warriors continued to fight in the second half but were unable to cut into the gap.

Landon Babb had 22 points to lead Happy Valley. Dakota Grindstaff had 12 points, while Colby Chausee had six points.
