Cloudland started rolling and never looked back.
The Lady ‘Landers picked up a key district win with a 12-1 win over Unaka on Wednesday in Roan Mountain.
The Lady Rangers opened the scoring as Haley Taylor took advantage of a wild pitch to cross the plate.
Unaka held a 1-0 lead after an inning of play.
Reagan Turbyfill evened things up in the bottom of the second as she hit a home run over the left field fence to tie the game at 1-1.
From there, it was all Cloudland.
The Lady ‘Landers scored four runs in the third and two more in the fourth to take control. Unaka kept battling, but Cloudland was able to add two more runs to the tally in the fifth and secured the win with a three-run sixth inning.
Ryan Turbyfill led the way for Cloudland as she went 3-for-3 with three RBI, while Rea. Turbyfill had two hits and two RBI. Izabella Christman, Bethany Sluder, and Eowyn McCoury each added two RBI.
Rea. Turbyfill also picked up the win in the pitching circle as she allowed no earned runs on two hits with four strikeouts.
Jill Faust and Taylor each had a hit for Unaka.
In the pitching circle, Gracie Stout struck out two batters and allowed just four earned runs on six hits in four innings of work.
